A stylish and cozy one bedroom apartment to let, in an historical and old fashioned building, with modern commodities in the center of Madrid. This charming one bedroom apartment is very well located between the famous districts of Malasaña and Chueca. The important street Fuencarral, very well know by its numerous modern shops and local bars, divides this two districts and goes directly into Gran Vía, one of the most walked streets of the city with more shops, restaurants and where all the big theater are taking place with the latest musicals and plays.
The apartment consists of a main bedroom with a queen sized double bed (1,50 x 2,00m) and a comfortable en suite bathroom with enclosure shower, a fully equipped kitchen and a comfortable living area includes a open dining area and a lounge with a three seater sofa-bed with chaise.
Fuencarral is a homely and very quiet flat, the apartment is interior-facing, meaning it is exceptionally quiet with no traffic or street noise, a luxury that can be difficult to find in a busy capital city. Just minutes away from all the interesting tourist attractions. Malasaña street itself is packed with great restaurants, bars and nightclubs as well as plenty of shops and places of historical interest.
Malasaña is to the west of Chueca and to the east of Argüelles. It is surrounded by several metro stations and is a central neighbourhood of Madrid. Residents include Esperanza Aguirre, the former Governor of the Province of Madrid, amongst other politicians and several artists. It was the center of the movida movement in late 1970s and 1980s Madrid.
Malasaña is a vibrant neighborhood full of lively bars and clubs overflowing with young people. Its streets are currently being renovated, making it a much more attractive quarter. It's one of the classic areas for partying the night away. The area's center is the Plaza del Dos de Mayo (in commemoration of a popular uprising on May 2, 1808, brutally repressed by the French troops and which started the Spanish Independence War).
The night life is diverse in Malasaña, though the most common themes are non-pretentious style places (alternative, funk, mainstream), mixed places (including many conspicuous LGBT, which have created a gay scene distinct from that of nearby Chueca) and colourful or bohemian cafes.
The attitude of the nightlife, as opposed to the neighbours of Chueca or nearby La Latina is relaxed, unpretentious and friendly. Commercially, Malasaña has many fashion boutiques as well as shops for design and niche market products. They are often cutting-edge shops or feature progressive designers and products. They are often economical and rarely mainstream. There are many second-hand vintage shops, used book stores and unique gift shops. Calle Espiritu Santo represents the melange of Malasaña by having, on one full block alone, a retro shop, butchers with uncommon meats, a fancy pastry shop, two vintage shops, a small florist, vegetable shop, five bars, three bohemian cafes, a retro food shop, two ethnic restaurants, two mid range restaurants and a couple more traditional bars along with two hip-hop clothing shops.
The architecture in Malasaña is rather uniform, with most buildings ranging from 4 to 6 levels, 3 to 5 windows wide, each building painted a uniform colour, almost all windows with French balconies and rare ornamentation. Rents are high for small space and some buildings are very exclusive.
Malasaña is mentioned in a song by Manu Chao and scenes by films by Pedro Almodóvar.

When you arrive to the apartment, a Flat Sweet Home team member will provide you with all of the relevant information about the property and its surrounding area. You will be asked to sign the rental contract and entry form, show your passport and your credit card and pay the security deposit. You will then be handed the keys to your new apartment in Madrid!
We ask all of our clients to follow our apartment check in Policy:
•Check in hours are between 3:00pm and 9:00pm.
•If you would like to check-in before 3:00pm we will do our utmost to accommodate you. If an earlier Check in is not possible, you are more than welcome to leave your luggage in the apartment, go out and begin exploring Madrid and return to the apartment as of 3:00pm.
•If you would like to Check in after 9:00pm or sundays an additional fee of 30 euros will be charged; for Check ins after 11:00 pm a 50 euros fee will be charged.
On the day of your Check Out, you must vacate the apartment before 11:00am. We kindly ask that you inspect the apartment before leaving, dispose of any garbage, and leave the keys on the living room table, you don’t need to wait for us. Our team will arrive after you leave to clean up and to review the apartment inventory, in case we find any issue not reported we will send you an email attaching pictures.
If you would like to leave the apartment alter 11:00am we will do our utmost to accommodate your needs; however, it is vital that you inform us your plans in advance. If a late departure cannot be arranged, you are more than welcome to leave your packed luggage in the apartment and return to pick up before 3:00pm.
